English as a Second Language

The English as a Second Language (E.S.L) program is offered to Prep -2 students who come from language backgrounds other than English. These children often require additional assistance in learning English through specialist ESL programs. The ESL teacher also offers support to classroom teachers, so that ESL students are catered for within the classroom. The ESL teacher provides specialist teaching that is aimed to help ESL students attain the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills needed to participate successfully in mainstream classroom activities and to achieve the goals of the mainstream curriculum.
